About the role:

Join our team as the NSW ACT Volunteer Lead and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of volunteering within our organisation. We are seeking a dynamic individual for a 12-month contract with a passion for community service and a proven track record in team leadership and volunteer management. As the Volunteer Lead, you will be responsible for developing and implementing our volunteer strategy, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of engagement and education among our 1300+ volunteers across NSW & ACT. This is a hybrid-flex role and does involve some travel across NSW and ACT.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

• Leading and mentoring a team of 3 Volunteer Coordinators to cultivate a positive and impactful volunteer experience.
• Enhancing volunteer engagement and retention by providing meaningful opportunities and recognition.
• Collaborating with coordinators to promptly address volunteer inquiries and provide support across all programs, which may involve regional and domestic travel.
• Leading the change to a new national volunteer management platform, making our processes for staff and volunteers easier and more accessible

To be successful in this role, you must have:

• Leadership experience, leading multi-site teams is preferred.
• Volunteer Management, or People & Culture / Human Resource Management, with a focus on talent acquisition, onboarding and people development
