Who we are looking for...

We’re seeking an experienced Bid Writer with exceptional organisation and time management skills to join our team in a contract capacity. You will secure new work and enhance existing partnerships through high-quality proposals. You’ll ensure timely submission, accurate tracking of progress and outcomes, and effective communication throughout the process. You’re someone who excels at managing competing priorities, are proactive, and can rally teams to meet short-term goals.

You’ll work with the Business Development and Accounts Management Principal to contribute to achieving quarterly and yearly revenue targets, meeting utilisation targets throughout the year, and driving revenue growth. Your extensive experience will allow you to confidently produce compelling and persuasive proposals, sometimes with minimal context. Independence and a proven track record in writing and winning bids within the public sector are essential. Knowledge of Human Centred Design and experience in agency or technology contexts is desirable.

What you will do:

  • Lead responses that win the work we want.
  • Show clients we’re listening through high-quality return briefs and correspondence;
  • Respond promptly to client needs, including opportunities, proposals, and RFQs;
  • Design projects which align Paper Giant’s skills, expertise and team availability to client needs in collaboration with practice teams; and
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to respond to client needs (proposals, RFQs), bringing in expertise and resources from across the studio as required.
  • Improve business development processes and systems
  • Upskill other team members on effective bid writing; and
  • Help us to design and build a positive, collaborative, inclusive studio culture.

Essential skills and experience:

  • 3+ years experience bid writing, sales, or a similar role, with a focus on achieving revenue targets in an agency context;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills including pitching and proposal writing;
  • Exceptional attention to detail;
  • Experience working in an agency or consulting environment;
  • Familiar with human-centred design methodologies and mindsets;
  • Fluent in written and spoken English; and
  • Full and current working rights for Australia.

This is a flexible, contract position with the option to work from our Collingwood office, remotely throughout Australia, or both.
