About the Opportunity

The Parenting Research Centre (PRC), now have an exciting opportunity for a part time Project Officer to join the team 3-4 days a week. Reporting to a Senior Manager the Project Officer is responsible for working collaboratively with project managers, project teams and internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of project objectives and deliverables. The role will be responsible for a wide variety of administrative and support tasks including project co-ordination, communication, preparation of documents and reporting.

Projects will vary but will initially include Raising Children Network – our complete online resource for Australian parents and carers (raisingchildren.net.au) as well as other research and practice design projects.

More specifically, some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain project management tools, systems, and records.
  • Assist in project planning and coordination, including creating budgets, plans, records, and reports.
  • Coordinate project meetings, take minutes, and track action items.
  • Participate in stakeholder consultation meetings.
  • Access relevant literature and background documents.
  • Manage project-related data.
  • Prepare reports for government, funding bodies, and other stakeholders.
  • Create content for Centre publications (e.g., PRC e-News, practice papers) and websites.
  • Draft program materials with content teams.
  • Respond professionally to external queries and provide information, advice, and consultation about project-related content and processes.
  • Assist in preparing and coordinating tenders and grant submissions.

About You

To be considered for this position you will have an undergraduate qualification in a related field, demonstrated experience in a similar role and some knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.

You will have high level communication skills (verbal and written), strong IT skills (including working knowledge of Microsoft suite of programs) and be solutions focused.

Importantly, we are looking for someone who can show initiative, anticipate needs and be proactive. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, be highly organised and understand priorities and deadlines.
