Parkinson’s NSW is a not-for-profit organisation striving to make life better for people living with Parkinson’s, their families and carers. Providing essential services such as counselling, support groups, InfoLine, Neurological Nurses and education while raising awareness and funds for research to improve the lives of people affected by Parkinson’s.

ROLE DESCRIPTION

Parkinson’s NSW recognises the challenges to patients, their carers and their families upon diagnosis and throughout their time with Parkinsons. It is our goal into improve the connection between people with Parkinson’s and the services that exist to support them as well as improving knowledge of Parkinsons within the community.

This role will work within the Fundraising team and closely with the Marketing and Communications team to increase revenue through securing significant philanthropic gifts. In this newly created role, you will develop and maintain relationships with philanthropic organisations, prepare and submit compelling funding applications, and manage donor experiences to ensure high-quality stewardship.

POSITION PURPOSE

To secure philanthropic support from Trusts and Foundations through quality applications, quality acquittal reporting, relationship development and continued integration with the program delivery of PNSW.

DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifying new opportunities for funding and inspire support from grants, trusts and foundations in conjunction with external agency support.
  • Developing donor cultivation and management plans for new and existing funders
  • Producing regular performance reports for the acquittal of grants
  • Liaise with all stakeholders as required to draft, write and develop applications for grants and tenders and follow through the application process until completion.
  • Write clear, concise, and persuasive proposal narratives that highlight the organisation's capabilities, experience, impact and unique value proposition.
  • Operating as the central point of contact for Client’s proposal requests.
  • Develop highly effective and productive relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Undertake research and conduct analysis to gather information and data to provide insights, demonstrate impact and provide opportunities that align with PNSW’s objectives and initiatives.
  • Coordinating the management and monitoring on upcoming funding opportunities as well as submission status with external agency support.
  • Maintaining compliance records with tender, funding and grant customers.
  • Maintaining the tender submission register including tracking success rates and submission losses.
  • Complete grants status reports requested from Management and/or Board

  • Developing and identifying new relationships and opportunities
  • Monitoring of prospects, including acknowledgement, recognition and retention
  • Engaging and influencing senior stakeholders
  • Undertake other duties as may be allocated by your manager.
  • An in-depth understanding of the role, vision, purpose and values of Parkinson’s NSW; its strategic direction; and taking accountability for your role in delivering the strategic direction.
  • Actively align with team culture expectations and actively participate as part of a team.

ABOUT YOU

Essential:

  • Over two years working on tenders, grants and proposal submissions.
  • Relevant qualifications with a solid academic track record.
  • A self-starter who can work independently and also contribute to a team environment.
  • High level of oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to work under pressure.
  • Confidence in dealing with people and the ability to develop and maintain strong relationships.
  • Experience working with the resource sector and Not for Profits.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with volunteers in a not-for-profit organisation
  • Experience working as a support to team managers
