Are you a passionate PR and media professional looking to make a real impact? PCYC NSW is seeking a Public Relations (PR) and Communications Specialist to shape our public image, manage media relations, and drive positive engagement. If you thrive in fast-paced environments, excel in storytelling, and can manage both proactive and reactive communications, this role is for you!
Reporting to the Head of Marketing and Brand, the PR and Communications Specialist will play a key role in shaping PCYC NSW’s external reputation and brand presence. You will develop media strategies, cultivate relationships with journalists, and respond to media opportunities to showcase PCYC NSW’s programs and impact. You will also play a critical role in crisis communications and reputational risk management.
Established in 1937, PCYC NSW is a life changing charity collaborating in partnership with communities and NSW Police to empower youth, get kids active in life and reduce and prevent youth crime. We have sixty-six clubs and eighteen OOSH services across NSW, with a vision for significant growth.
Our aim is to engage with and positively influence over 70,000 youth members through mainstream sport, recreation, education, leadership, and cultural programs. We also work with at-risk youth to break the cycle of disadvantage through crime prevention, vocational education, youth capacity building and social responsibility programs to enhance the life direction and outcomes of over 7,500 youth per year.
You are a skilled PR and communications professional with a keen eye for media opportunities, exceptional writing skills, and a strategic mindset. You thrive in dynamic environments, can navigate crisis communications, and have a strong passion for working with a purpose-driven organisation.
