ABOUT US

Pegasus Community Care has been a staffing specialist for the Community Services Sector since 2002.

We are looking for senior and experienced youth workers who can commit to regular hours on a rotating roster in permanent full time, permanent part time or casual employment, supporting children/young people who live in out of home care with varied care needs.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

Working in partnership with the program managers, you will lead the delivery of day to day care and implementation of children’s individualised programs. Working closely with the program House Manager, you will support carers to deliver a developmentally and trauma informed care environment for children and young people in the program.

The programs you will work in are based on the Attachment, Self-Regulation and Competency (ARC) framework and have a strong trauma recovery focus. As a Shift Mentor you will become an important part of the child’s multi-disciplinary care team and play a crucial role in helping children and young people reach their potential.

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for existing shift leader/senior youth workers experienced in supporting children and young people across a continuum of need, and a demonstrated passion for providing safe, nurturing and therapeutic care. You will demonstrate capacity to build strong relationships with children, families and stakeholders, working collaboratively to ensure quality care outcomes.

To be considered for this position, you will hold a minimum qualification of a Diploma in Youth, Community Services or a related field (eg education, allied health, disability, community services, human services). You must have demonstrated experience working with children and young people in a residential care setting, and an understanding of Legislation relevant to the role.

In addition, you will have highly developed communication skills (both written and verbal), strong interpersonal skills, crisis-management knowledge and intermediate computer skills. Disability and Mental Health experience will be highly regarded.

Prior to finalising your application you will need (or be willing to obtain) the following:

  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • Evidence of Australian Citizenship/Permanent Residency
  • National Police Check (less than 12 months old)
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certificate
  • NDIS workers screening check
  • 2 relevant reference checks
