The Senior Family Violence Intake and Assessment Practitioner is a valued member of the Family Violence Program at Peninsula Health. The role works within the state-funded Safety and Support Hubs, formally known as The Orange Door. The Family Violence Senior Practitioner responds to the identified need to enhance safety of women and children in our community by supporting children, victim survivors and adults using family violence (AUFV). This position will be based within the Peninsula Health Team at the Frankston site.
Together with the Orange Door Team Leader and your Integrated Team, the role of the Orange Door Mens Family Violence Senior Practitioner is to provide support and guidance for practitioners within the Orange Door. Key responsibilities include holding a clinical caseload through the provision of intake and assessment of high-risk family violence cases. The position reports operationally to the Orange Door Team Leader. The Senior Family Violence Intake and Assessment Practitioner is also required to step up and provide operational support to the teams when their Team Leader is on leave or needs protected time to undertake tasks.

This is achieved by drawing on expertise of Public Health and Community Based Organisations (including Peninsula Health) to receive and respond to referrals from:
The Orange Door have mobilised the service system to work with women, children and families and support their safety and wellbeing. One of the roles of the Hubs is to provide a central point of intake, where referrals are triaged by a team of professional staff representing the Family Violence sector. A key function of this role is to assess the risk posed by AUFV and determine the appropriate service provision, with a focus on referrals to family violence prevention programs (Men’s Behaviour Change Program) and other services as identified to address psychosocial needs.

*Please refer to the salary circular for Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
