What You Will Be Doing

The Team Leader role at The Orange Door (Hastings) is highly valued and crucial to the successful intake, assessment and triage for people experiencing violence and those using it across the Bayside Peninsula Area. You’ll be responsible for a team of practitioners from multiple organisations providing a considered and integrated service to children, victim survivors and people using violence. You’ll also be working closely with other leaders across The Orange Door to co-ordinate and deliver responsive services as a key member of the leadership group. You’ll also be responsible for a team of Peninsula Health Men’s Practitioners reporting directly to you for supervision, case support and guidance in leading quality responses to people using violence

Overview of the Program and Service

The Orange Door brings together different workforces and practices to create an integrated team and a consolidated intake point in each Hub area to provide support for;

  • Women, children and young people and families experiencing family violence,
  • Adults who use violence,
  • Families in need of support with the care, development, and well-being of children.

This is achieved by drawing on expertise of Public Health and Community Based Organisations (including Peninsula Health) to receive and respond to referrals from:

  • Police for women and children who are victims of family violence,
  • Police referrals for perpetrators of family violence,
  • Child wellbeing referrals,
  • Provide the intake, assessment and referral service for vulnerable families.

The Orange Door have mobilised the service system to work with women, children and families and support their safety and wellbeing. One of the roles of the Hubs is to provide a central point of intake, where referrals are triaged by a team of professional staff representing the Family Violence sector. A key function of this role is to assess the risk posed by AUFV and determine the appropriate service provision, with a focus on referrals to family violence prevention programs (Men’s Behaviour Change Program) and other services as identified to address psychosocial needs.

We anticipate you will have:

  • A relevant graduate qualification in Social Work or related social sciences (in accordance with Rec 209).
