You will be working closely with young people who are displaying violence in the home by using a family systems approach alongside individual support for family members. Your day will involve outreach and office based work, single person and family group meetings and lots of space for reflection. The goal is to reduce violence and increase safety for all family members.

Keeping Families Safe (KFS) is a state-funded specialist AVITH (Adolescent Violence in the Home) program that focuses on stopping adolescent’s use of abusive behaviours within their family relationships as well as enhancing the safety needs of all family members. The program is able to provide support to parents, carers, and family members, alongside the young person, when adolescent violence in the home is occurring. KFS work with families in a way that is non-blaming and non-shaming and seeks to understand the different viewpoints within the family.
The KFS role works closely with other services within Peninsula Health as well as with The Orange Door and other identified external agencies to facilitate connections to ongoing appropriate supports and to enhance safe relationships and positive, age-appropriate social connections for the young person and their family members.

*Please refer to the salary circular for Allied Health Professionals (Victorian Public Sector) (Single Interest Employers) Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2026 for salary range. Sub-grading will be based on years of experience.
