About the role

Permanent Full Time.

This is a generalist position that contributes to the design, delivery and evaluation of community projects. You will leverage your skills in project management, stakeholder and community engagement, and creative thinking to skilfully engage with residents experiencing hardship and respond to the impacts of disadvantage in older established neighbourhoods.

Also, this position takes responsibility for the coordination of Council's award-winning Village Cafe Program. The key objective for Village Café is to grow community connections and support local wellbeing.

This is a community-facing role that is expected to meet operational demands when balancing hours between office, on site and other locations in accordance with Council’s Finding Balance Policy and other relevant policies and procedures.

Essential criteria

  • Completed tertiary studies in a community, events or arts related field
  • A passion for social justice, equity and working collaboratively with community to drive positive outcomes
  • Experienced and confident in welcoming and working with people in need of support
  • Well-developed time management and organisational skills
  • Experienced in planning and delivering projects/events in a community setting
  • Confident verbal communicator and an ability to write for a range of audiences
  • Current Class C driver licence

Desirable criteria

  • Experience in supporting creative/arts projects
  • Experience working with disadvantaged communities

Commencing salary: $90,063.00 to $104,251.00 per annum, plus 11.5% superannuation.
