Carrie’s Place provides domestic and family violence and homelessness services to vulnerable people in the Maitland, Port Stephens, Cessnock, Dungog, and Upper Hunter Valley regions. The Senior Practitioner is an integral leadership role in the Staying Home Leaving Violence (SHLV) program. This role includes offering critical support to case managers and ensuring high-quality service delivery for clients who have experienced domestic violence and trauma. This role is a key support to the Team Leader and will hold an active caseload. The Senior Practitioner will collaborate with various teams across the organisation and external partners, providing oversight for case management and contributing to safety action meetings (SAMS).
The successful candidate will have demonstrated leadership skills in a community services environment and have a deep commitment to feminist principles, social justice, and human rights. You will bring a passion for advocating for survivors of domestic violence and a drive to foster safety and positive outcomes for families.

This position is offered at SCHADS Level 5.3, with additional benefits such as salary packaging options, five weeks of annual leave and wellbeing and professional development allowances.
