Garden Educator

Perth City Farm

Perth City Farm is a not-for-profit urban farm that harnesses the power of nature and community connection, bringing people together to learn about sustainable living. Our East Perth site is Perth’s original sustainability hub.

The role:

The Garden Educator ensures our farm landscape is a great place to teach people about sustainable living. They work with volunteers to keep all green space at the farm attractive, interesting and productive. They also teach in some of our education programming, using the gardens they maintain to share their knowledge and passion.

The requirements:

We’re looking for an experienced organic or permaculture gardener who delights in sharing their knowledge with others. Ideally you have worked in a public landscape before, have grown a lot of food and are comfortable getting down and dirty with the full spectrum of gardening tasks. You have the people skills to lead volunteers and run education sessions like tours and workshops.

What we offer:

At Perth City Farm you’ll find meaningful work, having the opportunity to help create connected, sustainable communities in a collaborative and supportive team. We are very supportive of flexible work arrangements and want everyone to love their work so we’ll support you to learn and grow as you wish.

You’ll become part of a community of interesting, passionate people working together for a better world. To support you in living a healthy, happy life we offer a staff discount at our Farmers Market stall, on nursery plants and at the on-site café.

This role is permanent part-time of 30 hours per week. We will consider job share arrangements though if you want to work fewer days or focus more on gardening than education delivery.

A position description is attached.
