Youth Engagement Coordinator

Australian YCW

ABOUT the ORGANISATION

YCW is an inclusive faith-based international youth movement with branches in all capital cities in Australia. The mission of the YCW is for all young people to discover the deepest meaning of their lives by taking action on issues which personally affect them. The YCW organises action programs run by small teams of young people 13-30 years old in high schools and in the community. The YCW is committed to achieving human dignity for all young people and believes that 'each young worker is worth more than all the gold in the world'.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Youth Engagement Coordinator (YEC) will be responsible for coordinating and supporting 2 Youth Engagement Officers (YEOs) who will work with small teams of young people and volunteers to start up and develop actions in their schools, universities and/or local community. The YEC will oversee the development of the plan of action, including coordinating digital campaigns to promote the actions, plans to recruit and engage young people in small teams and groups to ensure the actions are youth lead, and implementing a leadership development program with the support of experienced mentors.

Through these activities, the YEC will help foster an open and inclusive community of young people in Western Sydney where they may be able to build respectful connections, discover their human dignity and develop leadership for lifelong impact as part of an international youth movement.
