KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Youth Worker the role will:
- Meet with clients one-to-one to provide an assessment of their needs, referral support and formal advocacy.
- Liaise with other Phoenix House staff members to coordinate other wellbeing supplements,
- Liaise with external stakeholders directly related to advocacy and assistance services for clients (including, but limited to education, juvenile justice, local councils, housing providers, other social service providers, etc.).
- Maintain established timelines in-relation to client service periods,
- Assist in maintaining the delivery of group service programs,
- Assist in the collaborative growth of Phoenix House programs,
- Provide other assistance where necessary in the delivery of services under the acquittal of government-funded contracts.
CRITERIA
The criteria for the Youth Worker role include:
Essential:
- Experience in the delivery of case management services,
- Associate Diploma, Advanced Certificate, or higher equivalent tertiary qualification in a related field.
- Criminal History Record Check and Working with Children Check required.
Desirable:
- Strong relationship management skills,
- Experience in the not-for-profit sector.

DUTIES
Case Management (60%)
- Provide independent case management services for clients (low-complexity) experiencing, or at-risk of homelessness, or as part of targeted early-intervention programs.
- Assist in some services related to case management service delivery for clients of a medium-complexity, or high-complexity.
- Provide case management services outside of client interaction, including but not limited to: advocacy services, stakeholder liaison, housing or service provider referrals, etc.
- Provide assistance with, or independently engage in stakeholder engagement activities related to the promotion of Phoenix House’s case management services.
Administration (20%)
- Continual, relevant and accurate data-entry into the internal data mechanisms of Phoenix House, and data-entry into the external data mechanisms of Phoenix House stakeholders regarding client services for both individual and group delivery.
- Assistance with administrative tasks related to the ongoing operations of Phoenix House, as-needed.
Group Activities (20%)
- Assisting in the development, and continued delivery of group programs for clients, which might include (but is not limited to) living skills, education, employment, food programs or art / musical therapy.
