NSW Treasury are the principal financial and economic adviser for the NSW Government and their role is to enable the Government to deliver its promise to support the people of New South Wales (NSW). Treasury work includes developing industry, supporting jobs growth, improving service delivery to the community and increasing living standards. NSW Government procurement provides a significant opportunity to increase skills and economic participation within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and implements innovative, outcomes-driven approaches to government procurement to maximise value for money and make it easier to do business with the government.
This Associate Director Policy role provides a unique opportunity to lead implementation of the NSW Government’s Aboriginal Procurement Policy and contribute to growing NSW’s First Economy and delivering the NSW Closing the Gap Implementation Plan. This role is responsible for advising government agencies in their implementation and delivery against policy commitments and targets. It also provides support and advice to Aboriginal businesses and communities, along with other industry stakeholders, on the operation of the Aboriginal procurement Policy and government procurement more broadly. The role will lead the upcoming policy review and consultation with the Aboriginal community, government and industry stakeholders to develop future enhancements to the policy.

You will be a well-respected and customer-centric policy advisor and be highly collaborative, flexible, responsive, and supportive to consistently meet and exceed stakeholder expectations. You will have an eye for detail with a strong ability to identify potential issues and consistently seek to optimise outcomes readily. You will have demonstrated success in procurement, policy development and implementation, stakeholder engagement and leadership. You will act with the highest level of integrity and provide accurate, high quality, insightful strategic advice and recommendations to Senior Executives, Steering Committees and Boards on issues and initiatives.
