The First Nations and Community Engagement Specialist will support the delivery of APA's projects by developing and delivering tailored, meaningful and collaborative community engagement, particularly with First Nations people, that builds stakeholder relationships and enhances social performance outcomes. You will work collaboratively with stakeholders and be involved with the support of community engagement within remote communities. You will work closely with the Community and Social Performance Manager to drive the social performance outcomes.
A large project you will be supporting is the Northern expansion – the Beetaloo to the East Coast pipeline project. This will involve developing stakeholder engagement strategies and implementing these to establish and maintain strong relationships across various communities in this region. Followed by evaluating the social performance and outcomes of this project.

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will be proactive and collaborative in their approach to community engagement. You will have well-developed stakeholder engagement skills and an ability to build relationships, both internally with leaders and colleagues, and externally with First Nations communities. You will drive and understand the social impact of projects within remote communities. You will have strong communication skills, both verbal and the ability to manage projects within the correct timeframes. This role requires someone who can adapt to change, communicate transparently with a range of stakeholders, and be willing to travel to remote communities.
