About the role

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced First Nations HR Generalist to join a passionate and hardworking team. In this role you will work very closely with portfolio clients and will be responsible for providing expert and professional advice to them using your partnering skills and the utilisation of extensive workforce knowledge to achieve business outcomes. This position is also responsible for partnering with internal and external stakeholders to deliver best practice First Nations recruitment, employment and career development initiatives, and build internal capability to support the Sydney Opera Houses’ Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging strategic goals.

About you

You will have excellent interpersonal skills to manage diverse stakeholders, as well as demonstrated attention to detail with the ability to manage ambiguity. You will bring passion for your own culture as well as cultural diversity, to support the Sydney Opera house on their growth journey.

Key Selection Criteria

  • Applicants for this role must be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander and be accepted in the community.
  • Minimum 5 years’ generalist Human Resources experience with specialist experience in one or more of the following areas: - industrial relations; recruitment and selection; performance management; HR systems, processes and policies; organisation design; job design and evaluation; advocacy on people management issues; grievance handling, discipline and people issues and HR aspects of injury management and rehabilitation.
  • Well-developed interpersonal, facilitation, influencing, negotiation, coaching, networking and relationship management skills.
  • Experience in managing high-volume HR case-management.
  • Ability to build effective business partnering relationships, including an ability to analyse and evaluate and develop options and solutions.
  • Experience in managing the development and implementation of a range of human resource initiatives designed to improve organisational effectiveness.
