Planet Protector is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Head of ESG to lead our sustainability initiatives, ensuring that our business practices align with our commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. This is a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of innovation in an industry that is critical to our planet’s future.

We are looking for a go-getter with technical knowledge of sustainability concepts and ESG reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Development and implementation of innovative sustainability strategies aligned with our mission, ensuring every aspect of our business and operations reflect our commitment to a greener future.
• Work with cross-functional teams to define and execute ESG strategies, objectives and KPIs. Analyse global and local ESG trends, regulations and benchmarks to identify opportunities for improvement, and innovation.
• Reporting and data management of ESG metrics, including waste, carbon emissions and resource efficiency. Ensure reporting aligns with global ESG standards and supports the drafting of annual reports.
• Collaborate with other team members to integrate sustainability into all aspects of the organisation, supply chain, operations and product development.
• Writing analysis, preparing grant proposals to secure funding for future research projects.
• Foster partnerships with all stakeholders and attending conferences and workshops and cultivate key partnerships to champion sustainability both inside and outside the company.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts, Government officials and business leaders, consultants on environmental and social awareness programs.

About you

• Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in science, environment, engineering, or similar area.
• Strong knowledge of ESG, sustainability reporting frameworks (like UN SDGs, GRI) and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to drive innovation and continuous improvement in sustainability practices.
• Proven track record of developing and implementing successful sustainability strategies within different organisations or projects.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced corporate environment and strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Adaptable, flexible and eager to learn. Being in a start-up means that no two days are the same!
