About Plenty Valley Produce

Plenty Valley Produce is a small-scale, organic market garden in Upper Plenty, soon moving to a new site in Flowerdale, committed to growing fresh seasonal produce for local farmer's markets and restaurants across Melbourne.

We use bio-intensive and regenerative farming practices and are passionate about providing healthy, high-quality vegetables to our community.

About the Role

We are looking for a reliable and fit Farm Hand to assist with harvest work on a casual basis for Thursdays and Fridays, with the possibility of additional hours depending on applicant suitability.

This role involves physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions, and will give you valuable hands-on experience in organic market gardening. Inexperienced applicants are welcome to apply but must commit to working through the whole season until May 2025.

Key Responsibilities

• Harvesting and preparing produce for market
• Other duties may include (as needed):
  • Planting, weeding, and maintaining vegetable beds
  • Assisting with irrigation and soil preparation
  • Operating farm equipment (training provided)
  • Assisting with pest and disease control

Key Requirements

• Manual driver’s license
• Must have own transport
• Must be fit and willing to work in varying weather conditions
• Strong interest in organic market gardening
• Can-do attitude and ability to both self-initiate and work collaboratively as part of a team
• Available for Thursdays and Fridays, with potential for extra hours
• Commitment to the whole season (until May 2025)for inexperienced applicants
