In addition to the roles, duties and responsibilities of Education Support Staff in the Department of Education, the Student Wellbeing Coordinator will:
- Assist members of the Leadership Team in coordinating student wellbeing programs and support for students and families.
- Build and develop relationships with external agencies.
- Provide direct support and assistance to students and families through counselling, support, guidance and referrals as appropriate.
- Liaise between Student Programs Teams and other staff.
- Meet with Support Staff and help coordinate student referrals.
- Assist in the development, delivery and implementation of primary prevention (Health and Wellbeing) programs within the school.
- Attend regular team meetings.
- Coordinate the lunchtime clubs program.
- Initiate and/or maintain programs for the engagement and support of target groups.
- Work professionally, courteously and cooperatively with internal and external clients. This role involves close interaction with a wide range of parents, students and staff.
- Maintain confidentiality and sensitivity in all aspects of the role.
- Maintain currency of professional knowledge and skills.
- Assist in ensuring that the school complies with government regulations and policies.
- Comply with OH&S requirements and maintain a safe and healthy workplace for self and others.
- Fulfil other duties assigned by the principal or delegate within the relevant ES dimensions of work.
