About the opportunity

We have two lead positions available in our Service Design team, both which provides an essential operational role for Primary Health Tasmania, which requires the application of advanced technical skills to ensure the ongoing project development, management, and implementation of the following;

Lead – Health Service Design – Head to Health (available to 30 June 2025) to lead the establishment and support the embedding of Launceston Head to Health (formerly Adult Mental Health Centre) within the broader mental health system in Launceston.

Lead – Health Service Design – Mental Health (available to 30 June 2024) to lead the implementation of the Early Psychosis Youth Service (EPYS), the new headspace Centre in Hobart, and the Head to Health Kids service.

What would you be doing…

You will work closely with the Manager – Service Design and the Program Operations team (responsible for end-to-end project management), to provide technical advice and leadership to Primary Health Tasmania projects or programs, ensuring a coordinated, strategic, adaptable, responsive and results focused approach to achieve positive health outcomes for the Tasmanian community.

You will apply evidence-based knowledge and understanding of the national and Tasmanian health systems, the national and state mental and other health reform agendas, community health and service needs, service delivery, clinician challenges, and clinical pathways in designing commissioning activities.

Here's what you’ll look like…

  • You will have qualifications in a social science or public health field, and/or minimum five years’ demonstrable experience in managing complex social and/or health-related projects at a system-wide level.
  • You have a high level of verbal and written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate efficiently and effectively with a range of audiences, including experience in the development of a variety of written communication including reports, briefing notes, service requirements to a high level.
  • You’ll have project management skills with the ability to lead, demonstrate and apply project management tools and methodologies.
  • You’ll ideally have a strong influencing capability and examples of collaborating across and between organisations building strong links and knowledge to ensure project success.
  • You’re adaptable, flexible and able to think creatively with experience in change management.
  • You’ll work collaboratively and consultatively as part of a team, including the ability to managing action plans, coordinating activities and collaborating with peers and contribute to high-performance of the organisation.
