Responsibilities:
- Ensure exceptional food quality at every stage, from preparation to presentation, while maximising staff efficiency and cooperation.
- Assist the Head Chef in mise en place preparation and provide input on menu items when requested
- Guarantee that the kitchen operates efficiently and meets quality standards.
- Implement stock rotation and food preservation practices to avoid spoilage and prevent stock expiration.
- Maintain kitchen equipment in good working condition and promptly report faulty equipment to the Head Chef for further action. Coordinate necessary urgent repairs if instructed by Head Chef.
- Adhere to food control and storage protocols to reduce waste and extend product shelf life
- Practice and ensure safe use of cleaning chemicals and maintain cleanliness in work areas.
- Understand and comply with Food Safety and OHS standards, ensuring all kitchen staff follow these practices.
- Prepare for upcoming events and functions as directed by the Head Chef, ensuring all required mise en place and cooking tasks are completed.
- Perform additional tasks as needed based on the employee's skills, knowledge, and abilities.
Requirements:

- Certificate/ Diploma in culinary and hospitality management or higher
- Minimum two years relevant work experience
- Attention to details
- Ability to work under pressure
- Reliable and motivated
- Team player and strong leadership
- Good communication and management skill
- Knowledge in special dietary requirement, food preservation, kitchen workstations (pans, grill, pass, fryer) and stocktaking
- Knowledge in food safety and OHS work practice
