About the Role

People with Disability Australia (PWDA) provides a disability Information, Intake and Referral service that facilitates links between people with disability and appropriate services by providing face to face, telephone and web-based intake, information and referrals.

The Client Officer answers incoming phone calls and responds to online information requests. You engage with people with disability, their families, and others who contact PWDA. You will provide them with information about PWDA and referrals to PWDA programs where appropriate. The Client Officer will also assist in identifying relevant external agencies who may be of assistance, when PWDA is not able to help.

This is an office based role as the Client Officer will also be the first contact for all visitors to the PWDA office and provide information as required.

This is a 12 month contract with a possibility of extension, dependent on funding.

About You

  • You have experience in a similar client facing role providing information to people in person and over the phone.
  • You have exceptional communication skills and able to use these to liaise with a wide range of people.
  • You have experience dealing with clients, sometimes in heightened emotional distress
  • You are a problem-solver as this role will face barriers, be presented with challenges, so we need someone who can work successfully through them.
  • You have great administration skills including maintaining accurate record keeping.
  • You can managing competing deadlines and priorities.
  • You are tech savvy with the ability to navigate the internet to source relevant and current information as well as use our information management systems.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Award Classification: Level 4 Social, Community, Home Care & Disability Services (SCHADS) Award 2010, with above-award remuneration as per our EBA.
  • Fringe Benefits Tax benefits provides you with the option to salary package up to $15,900.
  • PWDA gifts an additional three days of holiday leave during the Christmas/New Year shut down period, as well as additional personal leave days, above the National Employment Standards, to enhance staff health and wellbeing.
