We are Australia’s peak rights and advocacy organisation for people with disability, advancing and protecting the rights, health and wellbeing of the people and communities we serve. Our vision is of a socially just, accessible and inclusive community, in which the human rights, belonging, contribution, potential and diversity of all people with disability are recognised, respected and celebrated with pride.
We offer an inclusive, supportive and collaborative work environment where the contribution of each team member is valued and commitment to our purpose is visible. In addition to an above-award salary, we offer a hybrid work environment, immediate access to tax-reducing salary packaging and other generous conditions.
People with Disability Australia (PWDA) provides a disability Information, Intake and Referral service that facilitates links between people with disability and appropriate services by providing face to face, telephone and web-based intake, information and referrals.
The Client Officer answers incoming phone calls and responds to online information requests. You engage with people with disability, their families, and others who contact PWDA. You will provide them with information about PWDA and referrals to PWDA programs where appropriate. The Client Officer will also assist in identifying relevant external agencies who may be of assistance, when PWDA is not able to help.
This is an office based role as the Client Officer will also be the first contact for all visitors to the PWDA office and provide information as required.
This is a 12 month contract with a possibility of extension, dependent on funding.
PWDA is a proud employer of people with disability, and people with disability are strongly encouraged to apply for these positions. We are an EEO employer and we embrace the diversity of our people, such as diversity in disability, race, cultural background, ethnicity, age, gender identity, sexual orientation, or intersex status.
If you require a reasonable adjustment at any time during the recruitment process, please let us know and we will be happy to collaborate with you on this.
Please note that a condition of employment is that successful candidates must provide a current and valid Working with Children Check and will be required to complete a national police check at PWDA’s expense.
