About us

The Queensland Council for LGBTI Health (formerly Queensland AIDS Council) is a Queensland statewide non-profit, communities-based health promotion charity focused on providing quality services that enhance the health and wellbeing of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Sistergirl and Brotherboy people and communities in Queensland.

Formed in 1984, the organisation has over three decades experience working with our communities to deliver health services and health promotion that are peer led and community based.

We receive funding from Local, State and Commonwealth Governments for some of our work, generate our own income and also rely on the contribution of volunteers, donors and other supporters from Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex, Sistergirl and Brotherboy people and wider communities to deliver our other services.

Your contribution

The Client Services Lead will be responsible for establishing and managing statewide delivery of person-centred services to LGBTI people and communities.

Central to this role, is the ongoing attention on systems that support the day-to-day management of a diversity of health services across General Practice, Psychological Supports and in Community Services delivery.

In addition to this, the role involves operational and strategic elements requiring skills in leadership, planning and service development.  \

The Client Services Lead will have a significant role in managing client issues and pathways across the state including the development of holistic client-led service delivery programs and services, including holistic health services across ageing, community health, sexual health, suicide prevention and mental health.

This role will be key in clinical stakeholder management and will guide the Clinical Governance Committee and is the Key Lead for the Clinical Services Framework for QC physical and mental health services.  This requires hands on knowledge and experience in the operation of clinical spaces and multi-disciplinary teams requiring remote practice supervision.

There will be significant work to operationalise a model that works in a new way across the state and experience of implementation of health services is highly desirable.

The successful incumbent of this position will be a strategic and operational leader. They will draw from demonstrated experience in leadership, planning and development to enable best practice.

Selection criteria for this position

  • Qualifications (and/or equivalent experience) in health-related discipline
  • Proven ability to lead critical pieces of work and to work successfully with other professionals in the management of holistic health care services in both clinical and community settings
  • Demonstrated understanding of industrial, legislative and regulatory requirements in healthcare and of the complexities of providing health services within the QLD health system
  • Demonstrated skills in strategic analysis and planning of clinical services, including research development, education and training
  • High level communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills, particularly with senior clinicians; 
  • Experience with, and commitment to, clinical governance and to clinical best practice and quality improvement
  • Experience in partnering with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander led organisations and health services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of financial management and experience in managing budgets, clinical redesign, and business case development

Highly desirable: Experience within a setting that sees and actions health holistically.

Position key duties

  • Working with the key stakeholders across our multi-disciplinary clinical services, funders (state federal and private), to ensure the delivery of efficient and effective networked client services statewide that reduce the health inequalities for LGBTI people and populations;
  • Leading the team in Clinical Governance and Quality Improvement in clinical and community-based practice (including allied health);
  • Developing and maintaining a Clinical Governance Framework for the provision of services to LGBTI people and populations statewide;
  • Establishment, maintenance and monitoring of mixed model of services and specialists to improve the physical and mental health and wellbeing of LGBTI people and populations through the utilisation of programs and services (i.e. Medicare, PBS, CTG, NDIS);
  • Operational experience in managing grant-funded budgets, monitoring expenditure and mitigating financial risk.

Role Registrations/Compliance - held or ability to obtain.

  • Current paid working with children check (Blue Card)
  • Valid Police Check (within the last 12 months)
  • Valid First Aid and CPR certificate

  • Supervisor: Executive Officer – Engagements, Partnerships and Culture
  • Supervisory Positions: QCGP+ Meanjin - Clinical Services Coordinator (Practice Manager), QCGP+ Meanjin Mental Health Team Lead, Ageing Team Lead.
  • Other key relationships: Finance and People Support Officer

Working from Home

This position allows for a mixture of home based and office-based hours.
