  • Hours: Full time (38 hrs per/wk). Flexibility in working outside standard office hours may be required
  • Responsible to: QCC Director
  • Employment terms: This is a permanent position, with a 3 month probationary period.
  • Remuneration: $102,818 - $109,831 per annum plus 11.5% superannuation and 17.5% holiday leave loading. You will also receive Christmas-New Years as additional paid leave on top of four weeks of annual leave. We will also likely be trialling a 30 hour week at this pay rate from 1 July 2025.

A bit about us

Queensland Conservation Council is the state’s peak non-government environment group. Our mission is to protect our natural environment and climate and make Queensland communities more sustainable.

We achieve our goals by advocating to the government, engaging with the community and informing through the media. We apply the latest scientific research to develop policies. We monitor progress and rate the performance of governments, their programs, and companies, holding them accountable to their commitments to the environment. Incorporated in 1969, we are a non-profit community organisation with no political affiliations.

We have a membership of 62 environment groups throughout Queensland, who we consult and coordinate with. We’re growing, with 22 staff, and an ambitious plan to grow the environment movement in Queensland.

About the Role

Queensland Conservation Councils strength comes from our partnerships. In this role, you will manage, develop and grow the partnerships QCC holds with key funders, grant-makers and major donors. Your work will be essential to our mission of protect our natural environment and climate.

Key responsibilities and duties

  • Grant Development - work with the Director and campaign teams to write compelling grant proposals, coordinate the creation of applications and pitch documents
  • Grant Stewardship and reporting - submit applications to foundations, manage reporting requirements for grant-funded projects, and organise QCC partnership events.
  • Coordinate the updating of grant outcomes and narrative and financial reports
  • New funder relationship development - research, assess and network with potential funders/grantors to QCC.
  • Brand management and reporting, including annual report and impacts reports
  • Develop and implement effective major donor strategies, and manage the organisation’s philanthropy pipeline over the financial year.
  • Support QCC’s regular giving program and twice-yearly appeals cycle, working with campaigners and external suppliers.
  • Analyse and report on QCC partnerships, making recommendations for further improvement, presenting results and recommendations at a monthly Fundraising Subcommittee.

Selection Criteria

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Marketing or Fundraising or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education/ training.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in partnerships, grant management or fundraising, with a proven track record for achieving results.
  • A passion for protecting the environment.
  • Demonstrated success in donor and grantee stewardship strategies.
  • Excellent writing skills and experience in writing for appeals, digital communications, social media and websites.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a flexible approach when working in a team.
