About Us

The Queensland Alliance for Mental Health (QAMH) is the peak body for community mental health and wellbeing in Queensland. Representing over 100 member organisations, we advocate for change, build capacity, and collaborate to improve the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector for all Queenslanders.

About the Role

We are seeking a Policy and Impact Officer to help translate project outcomes into compelling narratives and support policy submissions that strengthen QAMH’s advocacy efforts. In this role, you will work within the policy team to extract key learnings from projects, develop engaging communications materials, and contribute to policy development in partnership with the Policy Officer.

Key Responsibilities

  • Policy Development – Assist in drafting policy submissions and supporting advocacy efforts.

  • Project Impact and Knowledge Translation – Extract and synthesise key learnings from projects to create compelling case studies, reports, and presentations.

  • Stakeholder Engagement – Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders to maximise the impact of QAMH’s advocacy.

  • Communications – Develop content for presentations, resources, and media to showcase QAMH’s impact.

  • Sector Monitoring – Stay informed on policy and sector developments to identify opportunities for advocacy.

About You

We are looking for a strategic thinker with:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field.
  • Experience in translating complex information into engaging content.
  • Strong writing and communication skills across different formats.
  • Understanding of evaluation methods and extracting insights from data.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a small team.
  • Knowledge of the Community Mental Health and Wellbeing Sector (desirable).
