Queensland Community Alliance brings together 30 member organisations representing 1.7 million Queenslanders. We organise our members and communities to act for the common good. We are churches, mosques, other faith groups, trade unions, community organisations and ethnic associations.

Community organising is democracy in action: winning victories that change lives, transform communities, develop leadership and strengthen civil society.

  • $2 billion Queensland Renewable Energy and Hydrogen Jobs Fund.
  • World leading social prescribing network in Mount Gravatt to address social isolation and loneliness. Now being expanded in 10 locations around Queensland.
  • Historic increase in funding for local Neighbourhood Community Centres - $125.6 million package over 4 years.
  • $116 million for solar and energy efficient appliances for 32,000 social homes across Queensland.
  • Reducing missed ante-natal care in Logan by 67% through establishment of 5 Community Maternity Hubs.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Administration Officer role supports our small team of community organisers to work with diverse community leaders to create change for the common good.

Community organising works through building unexpected partnerships and common agendas across difference. This work is creative and inherently messy.

The successful candidate will be someone who enjoys bringing order to the mess and providing stability. But someone who is also comfortable being surrounded by productive chaos and changing priorities.

Key Tasks include:

  • Financial and Compliance admin: Paying bills, issuing invoices, legislative compliance, and working with our accountant on book-keeping & payroll.
  • Meeting and Event support: managing organisational calendars, arranging bookings, meeting papers and producing minutes.
  • Data management and data entry.
  • Systems administration - mainly cloud based.

ABOUT YOU

  • You have a strong belief and demonstrated commitment to community. (This can be demonstrated in a range of ways small and large, from informal neighbourhood connections, to involvement in our member organisations, or experience in the community sector).
  • You enjoy administration. You take pride in doing it well, and you are comfortable with this being your contribution to the wider mission of the organisation.
  • You have demonstrated administrative experience in situations requiring flexibility with strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • You have experience working effectively in a team environment that requires a mix of structure and flexibility
  • You have basic systems administration skills - Microsoft Office365, Google Workspace, assorted others.
  • You are proficient with Microsoft Office 365, Google Docs, Sheets & Forms
  • You are proficient with Customer Relationship Management systems (CRM), preferably Nationbuilder.
  • You are proficient with desktop design/publishing through programs such as Canva.
