Right now, Quantum Support Services has opportunities available for eligible graduates who want to be part of a valued team working to make positive change and end family violence.

THE PROGRAM

This role is part of the 2023 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program.

The Program provides a dedicated pathway for new and recent graduates into the family violence, sexual assault and primary prevention sectors and supports graduates to gain practical skills and knowledge while also receiving additional learning and development support.

In addition to state-wide learning and networking opportunities, graduates are supported by a dedicated Learning and Development Facilitator and have access to learning and development opportunities with other graduates throughout the year. This includes an induction session at the commencement of the Program and monthly community of practice sessions. Graduate’s Agencies also have access to a funding allocation to support their ongoing learning and development needs over the course of the program.

If you are relocating for the Program, you may also be eligible for a $1,500 contribution towards costs associated with your relocation.

To meet the eligibility requirements for the 2023 Family Violence and Sexual Assault Graduate Program, graduates must have completed all course requirements (or will do so before commencing in the Program) or have completed their qualifications within the last two years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Specialist Family Violence Practitioner – operates in the Latrobe City and Baw Baw Local Government Areas and is responsible for direct service delivery to women and children in the community who are experiencing or escaping from family violence and to assist them to achieve the greatest possible degree of self-reliance and independence.

  • The service operates from an Intersectional Feminist Philosophy.
  • Provides outreach services and case management to women and women with children.
  • To provide a service which is supportive of the individual needs of women and women with children.
  • Facilitate community awareness of the rights of women and their children.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE – what you will bring

  • An understanding of the social and political issues impacting on women and children escaping family violence.
  • An ability to identify and assess family violence risk, safety plan and prioritise safety of women and children.
  • Knowledge of case management practices and frameworks.
  • The ability to engage people who are experiencing or have experienced family violence.
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence |Working with Children Check | Police check
  • Minimum of Bachelor of Social Work or related field (refer to Position Description)
