About QUASSIC:

Established in 2019, QUASSIC serves as the coordinating hub for Queensland's Australian South Sea Islander communities, focusing on promoting harmony, influencing governmental policies, preserving heritage, and uplifting the ASSI community. We aim to bring about impactful change, ensuring acknowledgment of history while fostering unity for the future.

Position Overview:

We're in search of a dynamic Project Manager who can lead our initiatives with passion and precision. The ideal candidate will be self-directed, proficient in setting priorities, and excel in a community-based management setting.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Project Management: Oversee and prioritise QUASSIC’s projects in coordination with the President.
  • Community Consultations: Engage ASSI groups using appropriate and modern methodologies.
  • Revenue Generation: Develop and adapt a comprehensive 5-year revenue plan.
  • Document Management: Ensure organisational foundation is solid through key governance documents.
  • Data & Research: Maintain evidence-based initiatives supported by clear data.
  • Intellectual Property Management: Support ASSI groups in managing their intellectual assets.
  • People Management: Recruit, manage, and support a diverse team to achieve QUASSIC's objectives.

Organisational Relationships:

The PM reports to the Management Committee and will be responsible for overseeing administration workers, project workers, volunteers, and interns.

Selection Criteria:

  • Strong grasp and experience in community development, emphasising inclusivity.
  • Proficient in organisational development, including strategic planning and team management.
  • Cooperative work ethic, excelling in both team settings and individual responsibilities.
  • Ability to forge partnerships and represent QUASSIC effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
