Your new role

  • Full-time Ongoing located at Deakin, ACT
  • Annual Salary between $124,840.03 to $133,578.10 plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.

The Director Post Separation Services oversees the service delivery and practice governance processes for a range of services including but not limited to Family Dispute Resolution, Child Contact Services and the Family Law Pathway Network.

Duties:

  • Providing strategic direction and positive practice leadership, fostering a trauma-informed, restorative, child-inclusive and client-centred approach.
  • Providing leadership to Managers (direct reports), Senior Practitioners, and Team Leaders, fostering a safe, supportive, and high-performing workplace that prioritises professional development and staff wellbeing.
  • Overseeing the implementation of governance frameworks to ensure safe, high-quality, and evidence-informed services. Promote continuous improvement, professional supervision, and adherence to ethical and regulatory standards.
  • Lead efforts to strengthen cultural awareness and responsiveness, ensuring services are inclusive and culturally safe, particularly for First Nations communities and diverse client groups.
  • Represent RACR in local and sector-wide forums, strengthen partnerships with key stakeholders, and act as a spokesperson to enhance community awareness and collaboration.

What you’ll need to succeed

  • Essential skills and qualifications: Extensive leadership experience and qualification in the field of Law, Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or Social Science with relevant registration/membership.
  • Desirable skills: Experience and qualification in family mediation, property & financial mediation with registration/membership with Australian National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) transitioning to the Australian Mediation Dispute Resolution Practitioner Accreditation System (AMDRAS) and/or registration as a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner (FDRP) with the Attorney Generals’ Department; or willingness to undertake appropriate training as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop staff at all levels, driving performance and achieving success against organisational strategic and operational priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading and overseeing multi-disciplinary teams delivering a diverse range of complex services, ensuring high-quality, client-centred outcomes.
  • Extensive experience working collaboratively across programs and disciplines to design, implement, and evaluate organisation-wide services, programs, and strategic initiatives.
