Your new role

  • Full-Time Fixed Term 1.0 FTE for Deakin, Canberra and 1.0 FTE for Wagga Wagga, NSW
  • Annual Salary between $98,185.54 to $ 102,491.77, plus Superannuation, NFP Salary Packaging, Paid Christmas closure and other generous leave provisions under our Enterprise Agreement.

The Group Facilitator position, co-ordinates and facilitates a range of support, psycho-educational and therapeutic groups which may include groups such as grief and loss, parenting programs, relationship programs and family violence programs.

Duties

In consultation with the Manager, Early Intervention Services, the Group Facilitator is expected to:

  • Facilitate and deliver a range of psycho-educational and therapeutic groups
  • Co-ordinate and administer group work delivery including referral and assessment, co-facilitation arrangements, venue hire, set up, and evaluation.
  • Promote groups within the organisation and the broader service sector and local communities
  • Establish linkages and a collaborative working relationship with relevant internal and external stakeholders
  • Contribute to the evaluation and review of emerging research with a view to continuously improving content and updating group work practices.

What you’ll need to succeed

  1. Relevant experience and qualification in the field of Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Counselling or Social Science. Current registration/membership with at least one of the following: Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA); Australian Association for Social Workers (AASW); Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and Level 2 or above Australian Counselling Association (ACA).
  2. Demonstrated experience in the delivery of psycho-educational and/or therapeutic groups such as family violence or behaviour change programs, grief and loss, or relationship or parenting programs.
  3. Demonstrated experience and skills in building capacity and initiating and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders.
  4. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
  5. Strong time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
