Job Description:

We are seeking a Manager to join our Standards on a Full Time basis.

As the Manager Specialties, you will be responsible for the efficient and effective management of programs that support speciality areas of radiology, including demarcating the area of practice determining and actioning necessary technical and professional requirements to assure safety and quality. You will utilise strategic, innovating thinking to effectively manage talent, conduct comprehensive planning to direct the development and execution of various project areas, and be communicative to maintain stakeholder engagement and foster collaborative relationships with team members.

The key duties and responsibilities may include, but not limited to:

  • Manage the performance and development of employees within the reporting line.
  • Provide effective performance feedback through employee recognition and/or performance improvement, with the assistance of the General Manager when necessary.
  • In co-ordination with the General Manager, Standards, oversee the day to day running of the of all the work-streams needed for the recognition of specialties within clinical radiology and/or radiation oncology in accordance with approved plans, budgets and strategic directions.
  • In conjunction with the General Manager, Standards, provide oversight and monitoring of the speciality/sub-speciality programs.
  • Provide oversight of the Unit’s secretariat responsibilities for key committees, Councils and other relevant specialty/subspecialty affiliated committees and panels as required.
  • Formulate expert advice, synthesising input from multiple sources, regarding matters relating to the sub-specialty areas of radiology or radiation oncology practice e.g. needs assessments, SWOT analysis, environmental scanning, service modelling, qualitative data capture/analysis.
  • Communicate regularly with other managers, CEO, and other key stakeholders within the organisation to meet strategic objectives and improve organisational systems and performance.
  • Contribute to risk management by identifying and mitigating risks, adhering to relevant RANZCR risk management policies.

Required Skills and Experience:

You will have:

  • Demonstrated experience in operational management including managing staff, planning, financial management, reporting and risk management.
  • Demonstrated experience in project development, management and evaluation and the ability to manage multiple projects in a high activity environment and be responsive to a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated experience capturing, analysing and translating information from multiple sources to set priorities, develop member-focused plans and inform progress.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and change management skills to effectively manage interactions with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Track record in transforming strategic objectives into operational plans with strong analytical and complex problem-solving skills and an ability to think strategically.
  • Excellent writing skills for a range of materials (reports, standards, policy).
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and change management skills to effectively interact with key stakeholders.
  • Understanding of the principles influencing healthcare integration, coordination, person-centred care and understanding of the requirements for registration as a medical specialist in Australia and New Zealand is desirable
  • Effectively develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders with mutual interest in sub-speciality or speciality areas of practice.
  • Facilitate a culture within the Standards Unit that assures high quality member engagement, inspiring member involvement in College activities.
