This is a key clinical position focusing on counselling for children experiencing family violence in the Cranbourne region.
Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations. Our vision is for positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians. For more than 75 years, we have been delivering high quality family and relationship support services, and we now support more than 20,000 clients every year. We have over 400 dedicated employees working from 21 centres across metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, this specialist child focused role has responsibility for the delivery of the children’s counselling component of the “Child and Adult Person Experiencing Family Violence Counselling Program”.
Counselling will be provided in 50-minute sessions and can include somatic therapy and family activities and additional case management, where required. Interventions need to be trauma informed, culturally responsive and secure to support engagement, and reduce the re-traumatisation of children exposed to family violence.
This opportunity is located at our Cranbourne centre and is permanent, part-time working four (4) days per week with the expectation that one will be an evening shift (Tuesdays). The base salary range is $95k-$ 102k (pro-rata) per annum.
RAV is committed to developing an inclusive and diverse workforce. We encourage applications from First Nations peoples, people from under-represented culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, people from lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer, asexual (LGBTIQA+) communities, and people living with disability. We are committed to the safety of our clients and staff and promote a child-safe work environment.
We recognise the lifelong impacts of childhood trauma and recognise those who had children taken away from them.
