This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated, experienced Youth Access Worker at our Bairnsdale centre to join Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV).
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation providing early intervention mental health services to 12-25 year olds, along with assistance in promoting young peoples’ wellbeing. This covers core areas including mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services. Relationships Australia Victoria (RAV) is the lead agency for headspace Bairnsdale, which is governed by a consortium of local community organisations who provide expertise, support and advice to RAV. RAV is a secular, community-based, not-for-profit organisation with no religious affiliations who have been providing services to the Victorian community for over 75 years. Our vision is for “positive, respectful, safe and fulfilling relationships for all Australians”.
Reporting to the Centre Manager, you are able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. As one of the first points of contact for young people accessing the headspace centre, your responsibilities include building a positive rapport with a wide range of people. You will be assessing a young person’s needs, including complex risk assessments and the ability to action a plan to mitigate any identified risk. You will need to effectively engage, screen, assess, refer, provide brief interventions and coordinate care for young people aged 12-25 years that contact or are referred to the headspace centre. This role is also responsible for participating in regular clinical supervision and will be required to present and discuss cases with the clinical care team.
This opportunity is located at Bairnsdale and is part-time working 4 days per week with the expectation that one day per week will be an evening shift. The base salary range is $95,172 -$97,856 (pro-rata) per annum.
