Are you passionate about making a difference in children’s health? As our current Fundraising Coordinator steps into an exciting secondment role, we are now recruiting for a full-time, 12-month fixed-term Fundraising Coordinator to start in late 2024/early 2025.
Who we are
Founded in 1989, the Royal Children’s Hospital (RCH) Foundation is the fundraising arm of the Royal Children’s Hospital, one of the world’s leading children’s hospitals. The RCH Foundation has the vital role of raising and distributing donated funds to the hospital, enabling the very best patient and family care and support, and saving and improving the lives of our sickest children. While a legally separate organisation, the RCH Foundation works closely with the RCH in achieving its vision.
The Role
The RCH Foundation has a rich history of dedicated supporters who fundraise in their communities. This includes community groups, individuals, groups, and RCH Auxiliaries organising events or activities with the aim of raising funds for RCH. Using a high level of relationship management, time management and problem-solving skills, the Fundraising Coordinator is responsible for supporting these valued contributors to maximum success.
About You
- You are purpose driven and committed to the mission and values of the RCH Foundation
- You have experience working in a fundraising environment, possibly working with community fundraisers, and are familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and, ideally, customer/donor management database software
- You have a recognised event qualifications or equivalent hands-on experience
- You have excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and ideally also have relationship management experience
- You enjoy collaborating with other individuals and teams, to draw on their expertise to support and bolster your deliverables
- You are confident in your work, but know when and how to consult others to keep work moving, to achieve the best results and to avoid risk
- You have a commitment to personal development
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills, customer service skills and hands on event fundraising experience
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills, warm and positive personality
- Demonstrated experience in a support role in a fundraising environment
- Demonstrated attention to detail, working under own initiative to strict deadlines, managing projects simultaneously, along with excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to exercise discretion in dealing with sensitive information, ability to be empathetic in the most delicate of situations and always maintaining confidentiality
