Position Overview
The Administration Officer is a key support role within RDA Alice Springs, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our centre. This role involves a wide range of administrative, financial, and communications duties, contributing to the successful delivery of programs and community engagement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide efficient and proactive administrative, financial, and secretarial support to the RDA Alice Springs Committee.
- Assist in the management and reporting of operational grants, including financial tracking and communications.
- Coordinate committee meetings, including preparing agendas, distributing reports, and supporting meeting logistics.
- Liaise professionally with staff, volunteers, participants, families, and stakeholders to support daily operations and events.
- Maintain and update the organisation’s website and social media platforms, sharing news, photos, and activity updates.
- Contribute to fundraising and community engagement activities, including promotional support and volunteer coordination.
- Perform accurate data entry and maintain records using systems such as BrightHR and Microsoft Office.
- Ensure compliance with relevant policies, procedures, and regulatory obligations.
- Carry out additional duties as directed by the Committee.
Selection Criteria
Essential
- Demonstrated experience in an administrative role, ideally within a not-for-profit or community organisation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and database management.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team.
- High level of accuracy, discretion, and respect for confidentiality.
- A positive, compassionate approach aligned with RDA’s values.
Desirable
- Experience working with volunteers and/or people with disabilities.
- Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software.
- Knowledge of the Alice Springs community and local fundraising networks.
- Willingness to participate in client-facing activities when required.
Other Requirements
- Current Working with Children Check (Ochre Card) and National Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
- Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends for events.
Terms of Employment
This is a part-time position, approximately 25 hours per week, with flexibility in scheduling.
Salary and employment conditions are commensurate with experience and aligned with the Amusements, Events & Recreation Award.
