Support Worker - Complex Mental Health

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide person-centred, trauma-informed care and support to individuals experiencing mental health challenges.
  • Support clients in managing behaviours associated with self-harm and suicidal ideation.
  • Promote safety, empowerment, and recovery-oriented practices in all interactions.
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure consistent and holistic care.
  • Document and report on client progress in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.

Essential Criteria:

  • Demonstrated experience working in mental health, particularly with individuals with complex needs.
  • Sound understanding and application of trauma-informed care principles.
  • Experience supporting individuals who engage in self-harming behaviours or express suicidal ideation.
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
  • Valid CPR certification (HLTAID009 or equivalent).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Desirable:

  • Relevant qualifications in Mental Health, Community Services, Psychology, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of NDIS processes and support planning.
