The EDI team (based on the South Street Campus) provides strategic leadership, support, and advice across the university to embed impactful, best-practice equity, diversity, and inclusion principles across all areas. Our overarching philosophy recognises and celebrates the strengths that diverse cultures, worldviews, abilities, experiences, and identities bring to an organisation, especially in terms of promoting inclusion, curiosity, innovation, and positive social impact.
The EDI team leads by example, encouraging diverse appointments, flexible work arrangements, a collaborative and supportive team environment, and prioritising employee cultural safety. As members of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion team, EDI Project Coordinators are supported to develop and drive relevant initiatives, projects and programs which support the implementation of Murdoch University's Equity, Diversity and Inclusion sub-strategy.
Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD; 0.6FTE): This EDI Project Coordinator will primarily focus on Culturally and Linguistically Diverse cohorts (CALD) and will champion projects that enhance the inclusion and empowerment of culturally diverse groups within the university. Coordinating with community networks and advisory groups, the role will drive initiatives that celebrate and support the diverse cultural backgrounds of staff, students, and the broader community. Responsibilities encompass the coordination of projects tailored specifically for CALD communities, facilitating training opportunities to enhance intercultural competence, and actively identifying areas for improvement to foster the continual development of a culturally responsive and inclusive university environment.
