In the daunting and unpredictable experience that follows diagnosis, a child needs as much stability and support from their family as possible. Redkite is a lifeline for families, providing real emotional, financial and practical support. Because holding it together when your child’s life is in question can feel impossible.

The role:

The Bequest Manager is a talented and highly motivated professional responsible for building a long-term Bequest pipeline, driving sustainable revenue from Living Gifts in the short term and Gifts in Will in the medium term, growing exponentially into the long term with a priority on residual bequests. The Bequest Manager manages relationships with confirmed and prospective Bequestors as well as Solicitors, Executors and family.

The position is a key member of the Philanthropy team, reports to the Philanthropy and Engagement Manager, and works closely with other Redkite teams, in particular the Individual Giving team, Services and Finance teams, Redkite Regional Councils, CEO and Executive team.

About you:

The position is ideal for a professional fundraiser with a passion for building relationships and helping donors plan their legacy. The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate the following skills & experience:

  • At least 3-5 years’ experience in a relationship management role, preferably including Bequest relationship management experience, with demonstrated success in building strategic relationships and multi-tiered connections
  • Demonstrated success working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Superior proposal writing and presentation skills
  • The ability to articulate Redkite’s vision, mission and progress through effective story telling
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an authentic warm and professional approach
  • Accountable, proactive and results driven
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to use fundraising databases (CRM) for data analysis, tracking donor communications, and supporting day to day activities
  • Ability to work autonomously.

Desirable

  • Tertiary level fundraising, communications, business management qualifications or similar
  • Experience managing executive level committees and volunteers
  • Experience using Salesforce to support fundraising activity and analysis.
