Resilient Lismore Inc. is a registered charity and a grassroots, community based organisation that is dedicated to fostering disaster preparedness, recovery, and resilience in Lismore and the Northern Rivers.
We are looking for a capable and community-minded Project Officer to support residents across the Northern Rivers as they navigate the repair and recovery of their home following the 2022 disaster.
This role combines practical building knowledge with strong people skills. You’ll provide on-the-ground assistance to residents, guiding them through home repair programs, connecting them with the right professionals and tradespeople, and offering compassionate, supportive assistance to navigate their recovery.
What You’ll Do:
- Provide recovery program support to eligible homeowners
- Assess property repair needs and connect residents with builders, trades, or professional services
- Provide trauma-informed support to homeowners impacted by the 2022 disaster.
- Engage with local trades and building professionals
- Support the planning, coordination and delivery of property repairs
- Maintain accurate, secure records and contribute to reporting
- Collaborate with other staff and volunteers in our values-driven team
- Travel to sites across the Northern Rivers region as required.
Skills & Experience:
- Building qualification (at least Certificate 3 in carpentry, or equivalent)
- Experience in case management, customer service, or a similar community based role.
- Knowledge of risk management and OH&S practices
- Strong interpersonal skills, understanding of trauma informed care, training will be provided.
- Knowledge of privacy management and ethical standards in service delivery.
Highly Desirable
- Strong local knowledge and connection to Lismore and the Northern Rivers
- Work history in a disaster recovery context.
