Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, the Director of Strategy, Policy and Impact (SPI) will lead Respect Victoria's (RV's) strategy, policy, coordination, evaluation, research, evidence development and effective practice work at a statewide level, including the Ballarat Community Saturation Model, delivering on RV's strategic outcomes through on time, to budget and within a complex external environment.
This executive role is responsible for the four teams that deliver RV's Strategy, Policy and Impact outcomes:
The role requires a passion for, strong commitment to and demonstrating understanding of ending violence against women and family violence, and strong leadership skills to play a role in establishing strong, robust relationships and high-quality evidence-based activities that will position Respect Victoria as a leader in prevention across the state.
Success in this role requires the ability to develop and nurture positive, respectful and trusted relationships with key external stakeholders, including ministers, government departments and agencies, local government, a range of specialist violence prevention organisations and a host of other non-government organisations, groups and academics across a range of different sectors. The Director is required to be a strengths-based people leader with the ability to bring out the best in their team.
The role must be able to navigate through complex situations and government processes, maintain strong relationships with the Executive team, staff and the Respect Victoria Board and stakeholders and professionally represent the organisation at stakeholder events.
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), the successful candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with the CEO and other Directors to drive and inform strategy, contribute to maintaining and continuously improving an inclusive, collegiate, robust and supportive organisational culture, to advise and support the Respect Victoria Board, develop strong partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders and work closely with a range of government partners. This includes playing a leadership role in the delivery of the Ballarat Community Saturation Model.
Respect Victoria was established as a Statutory Authority under the Prevention of Family Violence Act 2018 on 4 October 2018. We have a broad focus on the primary prevention of family violence and violence against women in Victoria, and work collaboratively with stakeholders to provide statewide leadership to create social, institutional, organisational and community change.
