Community Lead - Remote / Work from Home

Rewiring Australia

Overview

This is a unique opportunity to lead community mobilisation efforts for an organisation at the forefront of Australia's energy transformation. The Community Lead will be responsible for building and nurturing a growing network of community groups that are advancing household electrification in their neighbourhoods and creating a national, local-led movement to ensure every Australian can electrify easily.

There is no fixed location for this role (this is a remote role). We have an office in Thirroul, NSW. However, we are interested in candidates from across Australia.

About Rewiring Australia

Rewiring Australia is a dynamic non-profit organisation that researches, educates, demonstrates and advocates. We are working to rapidly reduce emissions through household electrification. We have shifted the climate and energy debate towards urgent, optimistic action that prioritises households and communities and locks in bill savings for consumers.

We're a team of professionals with experience across climate, energy, policy, data and storytelling. We inspire households to want to electrify using research and storytelling, demonstrate how to solve issues to get it done faster and advocate for solutions to make it fairer and more accessible.

About the Opportunity - Community Lead

Electrifying Australia’s 11 million households involves influencing millions of “dinner table” decisions. Having independent, local and trusted networks of people who can support households with their electrification journeys is crucial. Community groups are fulfilling this need effectively as they run educational, engagement and practical programs.

Based on the success in building a national network, Rewiring Australia is looking to build on this work, which will be the responsibility of the Community Lead. The ideal candidate will have experience in community mobilisation, strong organisational and communication skills, and an interest in household electrification.
