The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive health care and 24-hour emergency service to those who live in and travel through remote, rural and regional Australia.
We are offering a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the Royal Flying Doctor Service South Eastern Section (RFDSSE) as the Head of Motoring Events. We are seeking an energetic individual to lead and grow the existing motoring based fundraising events - Outback Car Trek, the Bright Smiles Charity Ride and the Drive 4x4 The Doc.
Over the last 35 years these motoring events have raised more than $36 million for the RFDS, nationally, directly enabling us to deliver life-saving healthcare to people who travel, live and work in rural and remote Australia.
The successful applicant will have an affinity with the bush, a passion for adventure, a devotion to community, and the drive to make a difference.
The Head of Motoring Events is a senior role, reporting directly to the Executive General Manager Corporate Affairs and Fundraising and responsible for working in close partnership with the current motoring events management while facilitating a seamless transition to RFDSSE.
You will be responsible for all aspects involved in delivering the three events while ensuring their continued operational success, sustainability, and growth. You will work closely with participants and sponsors, as well as other RFDS teams, to deliver on the RFDS’s mission and increase each events impact.
This position requires a leader who builds strong relationships, has strong organisational and event management skills and brings a strategic mindset.
This is a hybrid position, offering flexibility to work remotely, with travel required to plan and oversee event operations and represent the organisation.
