Newcastle Program Facilitator - Community Engagement & Impact

Ripple Opportunities

We believe every young woman deserves the chance to rise, thrive, and write her story.

We're a charity with heart, grit, and a mission to empower vulnerable young women to rise above their circumstances and step boldly into independence. Through groundbreaking, evidence-based programs, we create safe, supportive spaces where women aged 17-25+ can break free from survival mode and discover their power, potential, and purpose.

In 2025 we’re expanding to Newcastle, and we’re looking for a passionate Program Facilitator to join our growing organisation. Could it be you?

  • Facilitator of connections: Supported by the Regional Program Manager and as lead facilitator of the Newcastle program, you’ll help young women facing challenges like family estrangement, out-of-home care, and school disengagement find their footing. By creating safe spaces and meaningful mentor connections, you’ll help them build resilience, life skills, and the confidence to thrive.
  • Values-driven leadership: Guided by Jessica Brown - an advocate with 20+ years of mentoring expertise - Warrior Woman is powered by care, integrity, and hope. Backed by Coca-Cola, L’Oréal, and $1,350,000 of in-kind mentoring from incredible volunteers, our bold programs deliver real change for young women.
  • Deep impact: Within 12 months of leaving out-of-home care, 50% of young people face homelessness, unemployment, incarceration, or become first-time parents. Young women are 10 times more likely to have their children removed, continuing a deeply entrenched cycle. With 150+ young women already supported, the Warrior Woman Foundation acts as a circuit breaker through mentorship and positive guidance.
  • Engagement gem: You’re not just a program facilitator - you’re a natural connector with the ability to navigate big-picture goals and tiny details all at once. You know how to read the room, build trust, and keep things moving, whether it’s pairing mentors and mentees, managing workshops, or bringing a calm, steady presence to moments that matter. In this role, you’ll use your skills to create safe, supportive spaces where young women can build resilience, grow their confidence, and step into independence.
  • Zig zaggers welcome: This org gets that experience comes in many forms - maybe you’ve studied psychology, social work, or human services. Maybe you’ve mentored young people, supported trauma recovery, or grown through volunteering. We want to hear how your experiences, stitched together, can help shift the needle for young women in the Hunter.
  • Flexibility meets purpose: This 10-month contractor role (March - December 2025) in the Hunter region combines set program hours and 6 - 12 flexible, work-from-home hours weekly. Perfect for balancing school drop-offs, side hustles, or study, you’ll earn $50/hour (plus GST) and gain insight shadowing our Sydney team. With real impact and potential to grow beyond 2025, it’s meaningful work that fits your life.

What's involved:

You're someone who thrives on building connections and creating impact, effortlessly juggling people, programs, and the little details that make a big difference.

The balance of work will shift over time, but to start:

40% Program Coordination

  • You’ll be the engine of the Young Warrior Woman Program, managing everything from pairing mentors with mentees to coordinating in-person workshops and online sessions. Program facilitation is your superpower, and you’ll make sure everything runs like clockwork.

30% Stakeholder Engagement

  • You’ll build trust and relationships across the board - mentors, mentees, caseworkers, schools, and community partners. Whether it’s a sensitive conversation or energising a room, you’ll know how to connect with people and keep them on board.

20% Administration & Reporting

  • From maintaining accurate records to keeping attendance organised and reports on track, you’ll handle the behind-the-scenes essentials that keep the program running smoothly. Proficient in tech tools like Zoom, Slack, and Google Docs? Even better.

10% Learning & Growth

  • You’ll shadow our Sydney team to learn the ropes and soak up best practices while bringing your own fresh ideas to Newcastle’s first program.

This role is for someone who’s ready to step up, get stuck in, and make a difference where it counts.

Key criteria:

  • Professional Expertise: You’ve studied (or are studying) social science, psychology, or human services—or gained equivalent hands-on experience in mentoring, counselling, or community work. You understand the complexities of trauma and how to support young people navigating tough transitions.
  • Clear Communicator: Whether it’s chatting with a mentee, liaising with a school, or updating program records, you know how to adapt your tone and approach to connect with anyone. Negotiation, conflict resolution, and building trust? That’s your jam.
  • Organisational Wizardry: You’re the backstage pro, pairing mentors with mentees, running workshops, and keeping the details tighter than a perfectly brewed flat white. With Zoom, Slack, Google Docs, and Canva in your toolkit, you keep the show running smoothly without missing a beat.
  • People-First Approach: You’ve got a gift for reading the room and building genuine connections. Whether you’re supporting a mentee, collaborating with the team, or engaging with stakeholders, you create safe, supportive spaces where young women feel seen and valued. You bring warmth and energy while staying adaptable, always open to learning and evolving to make an even bigger impact.
  • Values-Driven: Care, respect, integrity, and hope aren’t just on your vision board - they’re how you show up. With tenacity and heart, you align seamlessly with our mission to empower young women and are energised by the idea of joining a growing, innovative team that’s redefining what’s possible in this space, one bold step at a time.
