The need-to-know…

Rise’s Warwick Arts Hub is a place where creativity, fun & artistic vibes flow freely. We offer social activities to clients including woodwork, pottery, painting, needlework & much more! As a Senior Activity Planner at the hub, you will utilise your planning skills & creative side to coordinate the delivery of social support activities which promote personal independence, social participation, inclusion, wellness & life-long learning to our clients. This role is working full-time, Monday to Friday, 8.00am – 4.00pm in Warwick.

A typical day might look like…

  • Plan, develop and facilitate a responsive and engaging program of group activities that are guided by contemporary service methodology, based on participant input and feedback, and supporting dignity of risk of clients.
  • Review and monitor individual client plans/goals and provide feedback to Client and Senior Client Coordinators.
  • Promote wellness, community inclusion, skill building opportunities, valued and meaningful activities, and positive relationships.
  • Ensure cultural appropriateness of all activities and embody Rise’s commitment to diversity and inclusion in development and delivery of group activities.
  • Supervise, mentor and support staff and volunteers to ensure they perform their duties within policies and procedures to the required standard.
  • Supervise and monitor cash cards including receipts, coding, and following up on statutory declarations.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to quality, continuous improvement, occupational health and safety and risk management.

The need-to-have…

Here at Rise, we nurture potential, but we do need you to have a few tricks up your sleeve including the following:

  • Demonstrated administrative and organisational skills.
  • A passion for helping people through creative arts and a knack for creative innovation.
  • Minimum Certificate III in Ageing Support/Community Services and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience in delivering interesting and engaging activity program within a community setting and in response to community interests and opportunities.
  • Experience in supervising, mentoring, and supporting employees and volunteers.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop positive relationships with people from diverse client groups and their family/carers.
  • Well-developed time management skills and the ability to manage several tasks within a clear structure.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and regularly review workload and incorporate changes when required.
  • Understanding, awareness, and sensitivity to providing culturally safe supports for older Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Appointments to this position will be subject to a NDIS Worker Screening Check / NDIS Worker Orientation Module.

Costs for new checks will be covered and/or reimbursed by Rise.
