Riverwood Community Centre is well established community based organisation and not-for-profit service provider. We are looking for a part time youth service case worker.

Candidates need to be enthusiastic, energetic and willing to make a positive change in young people’s lives. They must have the ability to support and inspire young people and offer them opportunities to learn new skills and become great leaders.

The Youth Case Worker will support young people through assessment and case management to overcome challenges to barriers with the aim of assisting them to achieve the best possible outcome for them.

This role involves working with young people in both individual and group based activities with an early intervention and prevention focus.

Essential Criteria

• A thorough understanding of the contemporary issues facing young people
• Previous experience in case management for young people with complex needs
• Strong knowledge and understanding of working with young people and their families from diverse backgrounds
• Proven ability to build rapport and motivate young people
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Demonstrated competent practice regarding professional boundaries
• Computer literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of programs

Desirable Criteria

• At least two years’ experience working with disadvantaged young people
• Experience in developing and implementing group activities
• Knowledge and understanding of the Targeted Early Intervention program
• Knowledge of child protection legislation
• Current First Aid qualifications
• Current Driver’s Licence

This is a part-time contracted position for 21 hours per week with negotiable salary depending on experience and PBI salary packaging available.

To be successful in this role you will be required to obtain a satisfactory Criminal History check and Working with the children check.
