In-line with its mission, Ronald McDonald House Charities Victoria & Tasmania (RMHC VIC & TAS) has dedicated more than 37 years to keeping families closer to their child with a serious illness who require treatment and support across Victoria and Tasmania.

What we're looking for:

We are currently seeking a People & Culture Coordinator who is passionate about all things people! Responsible for the effective delivery of core P&C processes across employee & volunteer lifecycles, this diverse role requires outstanding initiative, integrity and communication skills with an ability to be flexible and pragmatic.

Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, this role is responsible for recruitment, onboarding, compliance, driving engagement and supporting L&D in both the employee space. The role also works closely with the Volunteer Engagement Manager, transferring key HR skills to the volunteer sector of the RMHC workforce.

This is advertised at a full-time role, but for the right candidate would consider a 0.8 role

What you'll be doing:

  • Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of HR Strategy initiatives
  • Coordinating end-to-end recruitment and selection processes, incorporating position descriptions, advertising, shortlisting, interviewing, reference checking and induction/onboarding for employees and certain bespoke volunteer roles
  • Promoting and facilitating an engaging, high-performance culture
  • Supporting people management practices and annual cycle activities such as 121 meetings, performance reviews, succession planning
  • Driving learning and development initiatives such as training needs analysis and in-house T&D
  • Events support and EDI initiatives
  • Project managing and presenting on HR projects to the Leadership Team and wider organisation

Ideally you'll have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in Human Resources or related discipline, or relevant transferable industry experience
  • A minimum of 3 years generalist Human Resource experience
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with employee and volunteer life cycles – talent acquisition, recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, performance management, succession planning
  • High levels of emotional intelligence, diplomacy, probity and professionalism
  • Sound ability to project manage – timely reporting and attention to details & deadlines
  • Amazing communication and the ability to interact with a variety of stakeholders
