Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) is an independent charity, providing support to ill or injured children, high-risk pregnancy expectant mothers and their families. RMHC South East Queensland is one of the many Ronald McDonald House “Chapters” across the federated structure within Australia and Globally, providing accommodation and other support programs for families. Our services operate 24/7 across all 365 days of the year providing compassionate hospitality to our families through our House Program, Hospital Programs and Learning Program.

This role at Ronald McDonald House Charities South East Queensland (RMHC SEQ) will be integral in delivering activities aimed at maximising brand and awareness of RMHC SEQ both internally and externally. The position is designed to develop the marketing and communications business tactics in line with the organisations strategy, along with delivering a range of marketing and communications disciplines, activities and initiatives to ensure the success of the campaigns and programs.

This pivotal role is part of the senior leadership team and is responsible for driving the development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns that enhance brand awareness, support fundraising growth, and strengthen our mission through:

  • Developing marketing strategies, plans, and campaigns aligned with organisational goals, including social media, ambassador, and key messaging frameworks.
  • Ensuring consistency with RMHC national and global brand guidelines, oversee collateral development, and manage content creation, including photography, videography, and copywriting.
  • Leading all digital initiatives, including website management, paid ad campaigns, SEO/SEM, and data-driven advertising strategies.
  • Partnering with the fundraising team to drive revenue growth, manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and coordinate advertising and content requirements with external agencies.
  • Mentoring and leading a high-performing marketing and communications team, overseeing budgets, and ensuring effective administration and reporting for campaigns and initiatives.

Key Selection Criteria

  • 10 years working in a marketing and communications discipline.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Marketing, Digital Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations or equivalent.
  • Experience in the not-for-profit industry (highly desirable).
  • Demonstrated skills in written and verbal communication, stakeholder engagement and management, ability to prioritise workloads and schedules to meet timeframes and deliver plans effectively; strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to recognise strengths in others and understand how these strengths contribute to overall success within the organisation.
  • Ability to build positive relationships and resolve conflicts with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Open driver's license is essential.
  • Possess, or have the ability to acquire, a Working with Children Blue Card and National Crime Check.
