About the role..

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will support the Occupational Therapists and multidisciplinary team in the delivery of person-centred interventions, activities and programs to clients undergoing physical and cognitive rehabilitation, on an individual basis or within a group situation.

Key responsibilities include:

The Occupational Therapy Assistant will be responsible for:

  • Motivating and assisting clients, using an enabling approach; and observing, reporting and documenting changes in individual or group behaviours.
  • The Occupational Therapy assistant is an integral member of the rehabilitation team and vital to the success of the private model of service delivery.

About you..

We seek a qualified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our multidisciplinary team to provide specialised rehabilitation to a Neurological, Orthopedic and Reconditioning case load.

Essential criteria:

  • Certificate IV Allied Health Assistant or equivalent health qualification
  • Experience within a rehabilitation inpatient setting
  • Experience running intervention groups
  • Ability to work autonomously and under direct supervision
  • Comprehensive and effective communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and customer service
  • Computer literacy
  • Full NSW C Class Drivers licence

Desirable criteria:

  • Client centred rehabilitative approach
  • Experience with or understanding of Occupational Therapy
  • Experience working with adaptive equipment and/or wheelchairs
  • Experience assisting clients with mobility and transfers using correct manual handling techniques
