Your new role

This is an exciting time in Sacred Heart Mission’s history, as we embark on the implementation of our bold new strategic plan, Strategy 2030: Serving more people and more communities.

Driving Strategy 2030, Sacred Heart Mission is strengthening our leadership team, and we are seeking a Head of Practice to provide strategic direction and drive excellence in service delivery.

In this newly created role, you will lead the development and implementation of best-practice frameworks, clinical governance, and trauma-informed care across our Aged Care and Homeless Services.

Your day-to-day

  • Leading the strategic direction of practice excellence, embedding best-practice service delivery.
  • Developing and implementing trauma-informed care frameworks across all of SHM.
  • Establishing clinical governance frameworks that support Aged Care and Homeless Services, and report into governance committees.
  • Providing expert consultation and secondary support on complex cases.
  • Mentoring and developing Practice Leads and frontline teams to build a high-performing workforce.
  • Overseeing the delivery of clinical supervision, Communities of Practice, and Psychological First Aid for staff.

We're looking for someone with

  • A tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Counselling, or a related field.
  • Full registration or membership with AHPRA, AASW, or PACFA.
  • Extensive experience in clinical practice leadership and clinical governance within social services.
  • A deep understanding of trauma-informed, person-centred, and culturally safe care.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a focus on building high-performing teams.
  • Proven ability to embed lived experience and participant voice into service design and practice.

  • Salary range of $145,000 - $155,000 per annum.
